A Luikham, new DPE secy |
IN A major bureaucratic reshuffle, the
Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on June 2 cleared the
appointment of 17 secretaries.
Among the host of appointment one key
department was department of public enterprises (DPE). Ameising
Luikham, an IAS officer belonging to 1981 batch of Manipur/Tripura
cadre will be the new secretary in the department of public

Council, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region will succeed
Kapil Dev Tripathi, said an official statement. A brilliant student
and an able officer, Luikhram belongs to a family of civil servants.
Ameising Luikham, who is the eldest son
of Ramyo Luikham, the retired director of finance, Government of
India, did his post graduation in history and cleared the civil
services exam in 1981.
Earlier, Luikham served as the
Secretary of the North Eastern Council, Shillong, in the rank of
Additional Secretary to Government of India. He was also posted as an
Additional Chief Secretary in the Government of Manipur. He has rich
experience of serving for 12 years in the capacities of Director and
Joint Secretary in three Ministries of the Central Government.
He also served as a Director of North
Eastern Development Finance Corporation Ltd.
He was joint secretary, Minority
Affairs Department. He was also commissioner, Land Revenue Management
and District Administration.
As an IAS officer he served in
different capacities in Manipur as well as in other places. His last
stint was as Secretary of North Eastern Council at Shillong, a post
equivalent to the rank of Additional Secretary of Government of
India. Ameising Luikham is also the second senior most IAS officer of
MT cadres from Manipur.
